Trolley Korean New Series Season 1
Episode 4 Recap And REVIEW
Episode 4 of Trolley begins with Soo-bin overhearing Joong-do and Hye-joo talking. He walks out, takes one look at the book repair shop, and walks away. Joong-do stays and actually takes the afternoon off. This is the first time he has done this too, which is sure to get the Assembly team talking. After all, those who have worked under him for years know that he works harder than most, does not get tired of stopping and even continues to work in a fatherly way. This is of course the discussion about the last episode.
Woo-jae is worried though. She decides to follow Joong-don, believing that he will show up for Seuk-hyu. He knows it will be bad news. But he sees Soo-bin leaving and corners him. When the dashcam disconnects, Woo-jae warns him to sleep like the dead.
During the flashbacks, we cut to Joong-don breaking the news to Hye-joo that he will be running for Assemblyman. Assemblyman Woo gave him a foot in the door and gave him a favorable recommendation. She’s not exactly happy, but agrees to go with him on the condition that she doesn’t know anything about politics. She wants him to share it with her if things ever get tough. He promises to do just that. Back in the present, we know that he is a man of his word.
Meanwhile, Ki-young muses with her friend about her past with Seung-hee, including how they went to high school together but never really got along. However, they are married now, but she has been studying for three years. His mother-in-law actually owns many buildings and becomes a very wealthy real estate owner. Things are tense between Ki-young and Seung-hee, though, especially if their frosty conversation at home is anything to go by.
Seung-hee is broken and goes in, talks to her mother and sees everything in the cabinet for her brother Seung-ho. Twenty years after his death, Seung-hee continues to be haunted by his brother’s actions.
Speaking of action, Joong-don’s new bill of shady real estate deals under the table — specifically his relationship with Assemblyman Kang and his sister-in-law — turns when he brings up Joong’s son and calls him out for being in love. . He demands that Joong-do get his house in order, and finally leaves in the middle of this heated argument, delaying the vote on whether or not to pass this bill.
Meanwhile, Woo-jae texts Joong-do that Ki-young is on his way and wants to meet up. Woo-jae agrees to take it on, but when Ki-young checks up on Assemblyman online, he sees a picture with his wife… who happens to be his friend from school.
As for Seung-hee, he comes to Hye-joo and calls her Kim Jae-Eun. “You killer.” He says as the episode draws to a close.
Episode Review
Trolley accidentally drops another grenade and a week goes away as everything explodes for our heroes. More of the past is revealed now, with Ki-young and Seung-hee becoming very involved with our main characters.
With the election looming for Joong-do, everything here points to the whole house of cards collapsing around them in the craziest way possible.
We have the whole Soo-bin situation, which could be Joong-do more father than Ji-hoon, which would explain the frosty reception in the hallway and the “JD” chant. He could be indifferent to her, explaining the relationship.

Then we have Hye-joo, who obviously doesn’t want to be in the public eye because of her dark past. This past (kind of like the Evil Flower) seems like a stain on Hye-joo’s character, and it remains to be seen if she actually killed this Seung-ho guy.
The way the show parallels Ki-young and Seung-hee’s characters with our main couple is a nice way to bring them together at the end of this chapter. It’s all set up nicely for next week’s double bill here.
