Episode Recap
The Rookie: Feds season 1 episode 13 begins with a man wiping his forehead before getting into a car. The other puts a suitcase on the car seat and prepares to leave. Just then, someone strangles him to death from the back seat.
Cutty then puts on some music and Simone walks in complaining about the heat. He asks her if she has a meeting, but Simone says it’s a last-minute errand.
Just then Simon’s daughter Billie walks in. Katty and Simone are surprised. They both think something is wrong that brought Billie home, but Billie says it’s just a visit.
A few seconds later, a man walks in, and Billie introduces him as Simone and her friend from Berkeley. His name is Taylor. Simone says she always thought the “friend” was a girl.
He shakes their hands, but Cutty hesitantly accepts. Simone asks what she’s reading, but Taylor says she’s not reading right now. She says she lives near campus for vibes, and Simone and Cutty look at each other in surprise.
Billie also adds that she has two days of classes and she decided to travel in Taylor’s van. Cutty asks if Taylor slept in the van because she wouldn’t let him sleep at home. It’s still hot outside, so Billie tries to ask her mom to do something about it. Simone makes it clear that this is Cutty’s house, so whatever she says goes.
Simone asks Billie to let her go and Billie asks if Taylor is okay. Simone then goes outside and asks herself what Billie is thinking.
Brandon and Antoinette are on their first date, it’s a work day after Garza calls everyone in the office. Antoinette thinks it’s stupid that Brandon has to work on a first date. She thought she was still fine because she was dying to wear the clothes she had. Brandon thinks she looks fantastic.
Just then, Simone arrives and wonders why they look so good despite Garza telling them to dress classy but casual. He also wonders if Garza called the lab tech because Antoinette is a lab tech, but remembers Brandon remembering their first date.
Antoinette wonders why Brandon told Simon about their first date, and he tells Simon everything. Brendon asks Simone what they’re called for, but she doesn’t know either, so they all leave.
This leads them to Trevor. Brendon and Antoinette talk and Brendon thinks they should reschedule their first date.
The team prepares to capture Trevor. Trevor then meets a man who kills him and takes the satellite technology. The team then arrives on the scene to arrest Trevor, but they are too late. Now they must find the real killer.
They find Trevor’s cellmate, Peter McCord. Now they have to find McCord.
The team teams up with the LAPD to capture McCord, but he escapes. However, Carter manages to obtain the satellite technology and his stitches are thrown. Garza lets Brendon go on his first date with Antoinette, and Carter finally asks to meet Fortune.
Brandon meets Antoinette, but he gets a call and he has to go to work, so they can’t go on their first date. But Brandon later follows her to work and promises to look into her case.
Cutty then calls Billy and tries to make it up with Simone. Simone says she’ll call him herself, but just then Billy walks in. According to Cutty, she has spent 8 years away from the people she loves and it will never be the same with her family. Billie and Simone apologize and they make things right.
As Simone leaves, she looks at Billy and asks Cutty if parenting is easy. Cutty then hugs Simon to make him feel better about his parenting issues.
Episode Review
It’s understandable that Carter is having a hard time getting back into the dating game. Things have changed a lot since he was last single. Dating can be hectic during this time, thankfully you have Laura and Simone to help you navigate it.
Brendon and Antoinette are so sweet. I hope they go on more dates and grow as a couple. Obviously the work schedules will be a bit of a challenge, but I think they will be able to make it work.
