Episode Recap
Jose had warned Camilo that if he met Eva, he could not come back. Although not serious, Camilo considers this the next big plan of his destiny. He packs his bags, leaves a letter to his parents and decides to run away with Eva. The plan came from Eva and her favorite books; The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. Jose and Ana find it strange that Camilo went to school before eating breakfast and saying goodbye to them.
In his room, they find the letter he wrote for them last night. In it, he calls Jose’s “lucidity” enough to make him decide to run. Ana stands by Jose and confronts him about it.
What happens after Camilo elopes with Eva?
Jose goes to school to talk to Camilo’s friends. He warns them to tell Camilo that he must return home immediately. That’s when they realize they’re running away together. Ana goes to her friends and asks them to tell her that she will always be there for Camilo no matter what. Eva took Camilo to her father’s hideout in the forest. They exchange all the things they brought with them. With no food at home and no money, Eva decides to use a gun to rob a supermarket. Camilo is extremely disturbed by the idea, but goes along with the madness to avoid losing the love of his life.
But they live without weapons and food will not be a problem for now. When Eva realizes how she contradicts herself, she throws the gun into the pond. Things are not going well at home. Jose is worried about Camilo and feels responsible for Eva getting him into trouble every time. Ana suddenly mentions that they should talk about their marriage.
Since Camilo is no longer there, what’s the point of them being together? They think differently and have different personalities. Jose blames Ana’s new job and all the weird things she’s started reading for what they’re telling her now. Will this marriage last?
What do Camilo and Eva do when the police find them in the cabin?
Meanwhile, Camilo has his first special night with Eva. What he doesn’t realize is that it will also be their last. Her parents aren’t home much and she’ll be fine for now. Rodrigo agrees to hide Eva for now. The police report the theft. Officer Romero meets with the parents once in the sixth episode and tells them what Camilo did. They are shocked.
Camilo goes to the club to tell his friends what happened. He promises them that they will help Eva not be found. He says that if he survives what Louise said about him earlier, he will die. Camilo goes home to meet his parents. He also takes the blame for the supermarket robbery. But Romero warns him to be careful what he does next.
How does Eva change Camilo and his friends?
When Rodrigo says he can’t keep Eva at home anymore, Alvaro takes charge. Camilo borrows a law book from the library and worries Sarah. He starts looking for a solution to Eva’s problem. He finds a precedent where Jose and Ana can take care of Eva until she becomes a major. Parents are skeptical. Alvaro takes Eva to his house, where he finds her helping his mother by ironing her customers’ clothes. He asks Eva not to reveal this to the other boys, just as Rodrigo asks Eva not to tell the others that she uses a brush to keep her hair up and fantasizes about keeping the acne on her face.
Martin hesitates to help Eva. But when Camilo offers to do the trigonometry and chemistry homework for the year, she agrees. Martin falls asleep listening to songs – romantic ballads – and this is his secret. He asks Eva not to tell anyone. But Martin’s mother finds out and calls the police and they take him away. Martin tells Camilo about it. But Eva has already done her job. He brought Camilo and his group of boys into adulthood where they were more open-minded, generous and compassionate.

Episode Review
Love is sometimes a favorite subject of great tragicomedies. Eva definitely played a big part in Lasting. Camilo and Eva’s brief time together felt magical considering how long we’ve been waiting for it to happen. But where does Camilo go from here? This sensational ending means there’s more story to come. How will Martin react to Camilo’s betrayal? The opportunities are simply too delicious to pass up.
For several minutes, the finale felt like a departure from the rest of the series. Eva comes off as crazy, unlike the practical straight-thinking feminist we’ve seen up to that point. But all’s well that ends well. There were no emotional, tearful goodbyes in the final episode. This happened to Gustavo, but quite understandably, not to Eva.
His influence on the group was evident when they all visited Alvaro’s house and each confessed that they had previously been afraid that the others would not understand or accept them. This transformation, along with Camilo’s ocean of tears, was enough to confirm life after Eva.
