Locke and Key Season 3 Episode No 5 Detailed Review, Emilia Jones

Episode 5 Review

Locke and Key Season 3 Episode 5 begins with Nina asking Bode how Dodge’s body ended up under his bed. Bode spews outright lies about the Timeshift Key…and Nina seems to buy it. However, he is suspicious of how there is a body under his son’s bed.

Meanwhile, Kinsey talks to Tyler, who now remembers everything. He doesn’t regret getting his memories back, admitting to her that instead of forgetting all about it, he needs to understand and accept the pain she’s feeling in order to work on it.

Nina takes her concerns to Kinsey and Tyler, telling them that Boden has been acting strange and that something is up with him. Worse, there seems to be something wrong with the grandfather clock. The sand is still shifting, so they contact Duncan and ask for help instead. Unfortunately, they cannot pass.

While this is going on, Rufus tells Ellie what’s going on with Bode, including how he knows everything about Dodge, so Ellie tries to call Nina, but Bode goes to the phone first and turns it off before covering it. is blown.

Upstairs, Tyler examines Dodge’s body and realizes that he is not decomposing. Deducing that it is similar to the Dream Key, he finally realizes that Boden is no longer himself. Good guys!

Bode / Dodge

Locke finally captures Bode/Dodge, who tells them everything they need to work together. He needs the Alpha Key to stop Gideon from breaking down the barriers between worlds. Given that Gideon also has the Plant Key, he closes the doors outside with thick vines. True to his promise at the beginning of the episode, Gideon is ready to launch an attack.

Despite everyone working together, the whole plan goes awry when Gideon and his cronies systematically grab each of the keys throughout the house.

Unfortunately, Gideon uses it as a targeting app and knocks it out of the sky. After shooting him, Dodge saves his skin and reveals that all the keys are in the basement. Gideon senses a trap and decides to let Bode go only after opening his chest.

In the middle of all this drama, Kinsey gets a voicemail from Duncan. Apparently, the hourglass is failsafe. Everything that has been brought into our time and should not have been there disappears as if it had never been there before, when the sand runs out.

But does that mean their memories are erased too? It’s unclear, but that’s what they’re hinting at. But paradoxically, if Bode was never in this timeline that Gideon had, wouldn’t that mean that everything up to this point would be reversed and Bode would be back to that pivotal moment with the grandfather clock when he jumped back in time? Or maybe I should stop reading so much into this. Anyway, I digress.

Back at Locke House, Gideon grabs each key and prepares to open the portal. Locke runs out of the house as the ground begins to spin and open.

So Gideon sets up his final conflict, and with that comes the promise of plenty of drama on the horizon. It’s clear that Gideon’s plan is going to cause a lot of chaos, but can the hourglass run out and turn back time bring him back?

This seems to be my mindset at this point, but the time travel rules this season have been hazy at best. Our characters also finally realize that Bode is actually Dodge, but Dodge doesn’t have to literally tell them that.

It was painful to see our characters get to this point where they were stunned and wondering what happened to the child. I mean, if Rufus could figure it out, why couldn’t the others?

Anyway, with Tyler now back and his family in dangerous waters as a result of Gideon’s plan, everything is left open for the final 3 episodes.
